Paramore recently got back together for their first tour in six years this past summer, and they have announced that they will be releasing their highly awaited new album, This Is Why, on February 10, 2023. The following month, Paramore is scheduled to make an appearance as a special guest on the opening night of Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour.
Twenty years ago, Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York, and drummer Zac Farro created the pop-punk powerhouse band Paramore in Tennessee when they were still in their preteens. Williams is the band's lead singer. Their euphoric, angsty pop-punk sound flourished among artists like Willow Smith and Meet Me at the Altar, as well as a generation of musicians as diverse as Soccer Mommy, Grimes, and Lil Uzi. They rose to emo superstardom rapidly, winning a Grammy in the process, and they are now considered one of the most influential bands of their generation.
This Is Why is the band's follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2017 album After Laughter, which gave us the hits "Hard Times" and "Rose-Colored Boy." It comes after the lead singer Hayley Williams' two solo albums, Petals for Armor in 2020 and FLOWERS for VASES/descansos in 2021.
